This year’s AMED will feature Peter Menzies, MSW, PhD, RSW, as keynote speaker. During his presentation, Peter will draw on his extensive work with First Nations communities in Ontario. The event will also include eight educational seminars for RSWs and RSSWs. Using a historical lens, Peter will share how social work interventions have been used to address social policy gaps. Peter will set out the importance of helping professionals in mitigating these gaps by supporting individuals, families and communities in developing resiliency in the midst of the changing political and social relationships between Indigenous peoples and governments in Canada.
