A pandemic is a worldwide epidemic in which a disease spreads easily and rapidly. Although there is no way to predict when the next pandemic will occur, many experts believe that it is overdue and planning must take place to deal with such emergency.
A well considered and comprehensive plan, aligned with the plans of other authoritative organizations, is critical to support the OCSWSSW's operations during a pandemic. The College has created a Pandemic Plan and all College members and staff should be familiar with it and maintain it for future reference.

The College also created an article entitled "Pandemic Planning: What are my Obligations?" to assist members in considering their obligations in the event of a pandemic. Download a copy of the article.
If you have further questions regarding the plan, please contact Bob MacWhirter, M.S.W., RSW, Director of Professional Practice at (416) 972-9884 or 1-877-828-9380 ext. 224 or e-mail bmacwhirter@ocswssw.org.
