The College is accountable to the Minister of Community and Social Services and its primary mandate is the protection of the public with regard to the delivery of social work and social service work services. It is the responsibility of the College to regulate social work and social service work practice and to govern its members in accordance with the Act, Regulations and bylaws. The College currently has over 13,000 members.

DIRECTOR, REGISTRATION The Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers is the regulatory body for social workers and social service workers in Ontario with approximately 15,000 members. The mandate of the College is to serve and protect the public interest through self-regulation of the professions of social work and social service work. The College has an exciting employment opportunity for a seasoned manager to join the College’s leadership team as Director of Registration. Position Summary Reporting to the Registrar, the Director of Registration will lead a team of 7 staff and direct registration processes prescribed by legislation, the Social Work and Social Service Work Act, 1998, the Registration Regulation and the By-Laws and Policies of the College. As a member of the Management Team the Director of Registration will provide leadership and direction to the College. Key Responsibilities Oversee and ensure effective and efficient implementation of all registration processes; Prepare and analyze data regarding the registration functions of the College; generate reports as required; undertake statistical and qualitative analysis of registration statistics; Supervise approximately seven staff; Participate in the management team, collaborate with other staff members and managers and contribute to the overall leadership of the College; Collaborate with, and serve as a resource to, Council and Committee members; Communicate with various College stakeholders including: community organizations and professional bodies; College members and applicants; government officials and staff at academic institutions; Serve as the primary staff resource to the Registration Appeals Committee; Function as the primary contact with the Office of the Fairness Commissioner. Experience Required Progressive management experience demonstrating strong leadership abilities; Senior level experience within a similar regulatory body a strong asset, or familiarity working within a legislated mandate; Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as within a team setting; Experience providing consultation to committees and task groups; Well-developed organizational skills and ability to multi-task while meeting time sensitive deadlines; Proven track record of prioritizing and executing tasks effectively in a high-pressure environment; Critical thinking with the ability to provide analyses, research and interpretation, and to transfer this information into comprehensive reports; Technical proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office; Excellent communication skills including verbal, written and presentation skills. Credentials Required Graduate Degree or equivalent; educational credential in social work or social service work preferred; If eligible, membership in the College required; French language proficiency an asset.
