The Value of College Registration
As a registrant of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, you are committed to delivering professional, ethical, qualified and accountable care and services to the public. Registration with the College also demonstrates to employers and to the public that you have met specific registration requirements, follow a code of ethics and standards of practice, and engage in ongoing learning through the College’s Continuing Competence Program (CCP).
Only College registrants are allowed to use the titles “social worker / registered social worker,” or “social service worker” / “registered social service worker,” and hold themselves out as social workers or social service workers.
College registrants have access to the following supports and services:
- Consultations with and free guidance from the Professional Practice Department for ethical and practice-related questions.
- College resources, including eBulletins, the Perspective newsletter as well as practice resources, such as the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice, Practice Guidelines, PHIPA Toolkit, ETHICS->A Tool, Practice Notes, webinars, and much more!
- Educational and networking opportunities as part of the Glenda McDonald Educational Series, including the Annual Meeting and Education Day (AMED) and Educational Forums.
