Troubleshooting

Having difficulty accessing or updating the files on your Member Resource USB? Please double-check the following:

Do you have a Mac computer?
Unfortunately, Mac computers do not support the software necessary to update your Member Resource USB files. To update your Member Resource USB key, please review the Instruction Guide for Mac Users.

The update didn’t work, what could have happened?
The three most common errors are as follows:

  • Interrupted Update: If you choose to update the Member Resource USB, be sure to not to press “cancel” or interrupt the update. Once the update is complete, you will get a notice which reads “Your OCSWSSW Member Resource USB has been updated”;
  • Open PDFs: Make sure all of the documents on your computer are closed. This includes all pdfs and documents from the Member Resource USB. The update cannot happen if documents from the USB are open;
  • Install the .NET Framework software: you may not have the software necessary to update your Member Resource USB. Please see the question below for more information.

Do you have the appropriate software?
To view the contents of your Member Resource USB, your Microsoft computer must have .NET Framework 2.0 software. Though most Microsoft computers already have this software installed, some Member Resource USB users may need to download and install it themselves.

  1. To download and install the .NET Framework 2.0 software, you may either:
    Access the software in the “Preinstall” folder on the Member Resource USB;
  2. Visit Microsoft® Download Centre

Once you have downloaded and installed the .NET Framework 2.0 software, please remove your Member Resource USB and re-insert.

Do you have it plugged into the right port?
