The College has important updates for members regarding the Continuing Competence Program (CCP) and the Ontario Ministry of Community and Social Services’ (MCSS) changes to medical reviews for Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) recipients.
2017 CCP update
For the 2017 CCP, College members will be required to review (along with the Standards of Practice) the article, “Medical Assistance in Dying: What Are My Professional Obligations?”
In February, the College announced that its revised 2017 CCP is now available on the College website. In the revised CCP Instruction Guide, and Self-Assessment Tool and Professional Development Plan, members will have noticed several modifications to the program requirements. One of these is the introduction of the requirement to review “any other documents posted for review in this CCP year.” Members are strongly encouraged to review College publications on a regular basis, including Practice Guidelines, Practice Notes, eBulletins and the Perspective Newsletter, as well as other information found in the “Resources” section of the College website.
The College is committed to ensuring that the CCP is feasible and accessible for all members. The CCP promotes quality assurance with respect to the practice of social work and social service work, and encourages members to enhance their practice in an ongoing way. This is one way in which the College fulfills its mandate of public protection.Access the revised CCP documents:
