The College is moving ahead with its event schedule, but with one notable change. In light of the ongoing impacts related to the COVID-19 pandemic, many College events this fall 2020 will be hosted entirely online via livestream.
Participating in a College event is a great way for College members and their employers to stay up to date on College and broader regulatory affairs, as well as new developments that impact social work and social service work practice.
We are encouraging College members to mark the following days in their calendar:
September 3, 2020
2020 Annual Meeting and Keynote Address
Hosted via livestream, this year’s event will include a keynote presentation by Ramona Alaggia, MSW, PhD, RSW, entitled “Gender Equality, Gender Equity and Gender-Based Violence: Mobilizing an Anti-Violence Movement in a Pandemic.” Read more.
October 13, 2020
Sault Ste. Marie Employer Roundtable
The College will be hosting an Employer Roundtable for employers in the Sault Ste. Marie and surrounding area, and reaching out to employers who work within Indigenous communities in particular. This interactive event is an opportunity for employers to learn more about the College and its public protection mandate, to share their ideas abut how the College can better support employers, and to discuss some of the challenges faced by employers of social workers and social service workers. For more information, please contact Amy Vranchidis at avranchidis@ocswssw.org.
October 22, 2020
