Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers Deputy Registrar
Established in 2000, the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers is the regulatory body for over 23,500 social workers and social service workers across Ontario. The College serves and protects the public by regulating the practice of the professions and promoting ethical and professional practice. It does this by maintaining a public register; setting requirements for entry to practice; establishing and maintaining standards of practice; ensuring that members engage in ongoing learning; and maintaining rigorous complaints and discipline processes.
The College is accountable to the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services, and acts in accordance with the Social Work and Social Service Work Act,1998.
As the College looks to the future and to its strategic priorities, it is seeking a Deputy Registrar to strengthen its core functions and play a key role in leading the College through its next phase of growth and success. Reporting to the Registrar & CEO, the Deputy Registrar is responsible for registration processes and member services, as well as the financial, administrative and information management systems and the physical infrastructure which are needed to support the College’s mission and mandate. The Deputy Registrar is a key member of the executive team, and the designate responsible to act in the absence of the Registrar & CEO.
With a graduate degree in a relevant field combined with a demonstrated track record of progressive leadership in a regulatory body or an organization in the public or non-profit sectors, you bring experience in project management, risk management, information technology, and finance. You are energetic, visionary, and a collaborative leader with the ability to inspire, motivate and foster a culture of trust, excellence, and respect. Knowledge of the social work and social service work professions will be considered an asset. An in-depth understanding of the role of a regulatory college, and expertise in leading transformative projects will be important to success. You have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
