The Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (the College) is pleased to announce that online applications are now available to additional practitioners, including those applying through the equivalency stream and those who were previously registered with the College. This will streamline the application process and allow for additional practitioners to register with the College more easily.
The equivalency stream is available to those who do not have a degree in social work or diploma in social service work or who have a degree or diploma that is not considered to be equivalent to an accredited program. These individuals can apply to the College showing their combination of academic qualifications and experience performing the role of a social worker or social service worker.
Through their registration with the College, registered social workers and social service workers demonstrate that they are professional, ethical, qualified and accountable. It is important for employers to ensure that their employees are registered with the College. The Online Register is the best source of accurate and up-to-date information on all social workers and social service workers in Ontario.
