The Council of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (the College) is pleased to announce the appointment of Denitha Breau as the new Registrar and CEO, effective August 1, 2023.
Denitha’s selection comes after careful consideration and a diligent and extensive recruitment process to identify the ideal candidate. With over 15 years of valuable regulatory knowledge and experience, Denitha has been serving as the Deputy Registrar at the College for the past two years. During her tenure, she has collaborated closely with government and other key stakeholders, as well as the College’s Council and committees. Denitha’s progressive leadership positions at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, including her most recent role as the Manager of Investigations and Resolutions, have further enriched her expertise both at the operational and strategic levels. As a Registered Nurse with a joint master’s degree in business administration and nursing, Denitha brings in-depth expertise to her new role. Her commitment to the regulatory sector is also evident through her service on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Network of Agencies for Regulation (CNAR).
Throughout her career, Denitha has fostered a culture of curiosity and growth, encouraging innovation and development to meet the evolving needs of the regulatory environment. As Registrar and CEO, she will continue this dedication, valuing the voices and perspectives of all parties involved with the common goal of public protection.
