On Friday, November 3, 2023, the elected members of Council voted on who would fill the Council vacancy for the social work category in Electoral District No. 2. The following registrant is the candidate who received the greatest number of votes:
- Daniel Afram, RSW
Daniel will join Council for the remainder of the term, until the next election in District No. 2, in May 2026.
Role of Council Members
Council governs and sets the policy direction of the College. Council members:
- Contribute to governance and policy decisions, ensuring that the policies that regulate the practice of social work and social service work reflect the College’s public protection mandate.
- Attend and participate in Council meetings and statutory and non-statutory committees.

Stay Tuned – 2024 Council Elections in District No. 4
In early 2024, the College will be holding an election for registered social workers and registered social service workers in Electoral District No. 4.
There will be two social work positions and two social service work positions available for the geographic area within the boundaries of the Regional Municipalities of Halton, Hamilton-Wentworth, Niagara, Waterloo and Haldimand-Norfolk, the Counties of Dufferin and Wellington and the County of Brant.
