  • Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services’ invitation to review Ontario’s Anti-Human Trafficking Strategy

The College’s Practice Guidelines for Custody and Access Assessments, now titled Practice Guidelines for Parenting Plans, have been updated to reflect current practice.

We invite you to review the draft Practice Guidelines and share your insights through our feedback survey. Your perspectives will help improve and strengthen this important practice resource.

The survey link can be accessed until August 6, 2024, and will take approximately 20 minutes to complete.

The College engaged with a consultant with expertise in conducting high-conflict parenting plan assessments following separation or divorce to draft revisions to the Practice Guidelines. Updates include the following practice considerations:

  • current legislation and practices;
  • gender-neutral and user-friendly language;
  • equity, diversity and inclusion principles and practices;
  • informed approaches to working in the context of intimate partner violence;
  • virtual practice considerations; and
  • ethical guidance for client contracts.

If at any time you experience technical difficulties or have any questions and/or concerns regarding the survey, feel free to reach out to us at practice@ocswssw.org.

Thank you for your ongoing dedication to ethical and professional practice. We look forward to receiving your feedback.

Invitation to Review Ontario’s 2020-2025 Anti-Human Trafficking Strategy

Sent on behalf of the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services

The Ontario government is working to combat human trafficking through its five-year Human Trafficking Strategy, which began in 2020. As the five-year strategy is coming to a conclusion, the government is looking for feedback that will help shape Ontario’s next steps in combatting human trafficking — including how the Ontario government can better support survivors and protect people who are at greater risk of being targeted and trafficked.

Have your say on how the government can work towards ending human trafficking and better support victims, survivors and people at risk of trafficking.
