Message from the Registrar and CEO: Introducing the College’s 2024-2029 Strategic Plan

As Registrar and CEO of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (the College), I’m extremely proud to share our new 2024-2029 Strategic Plan, which will serve as our guiding framework for the next five years.

Our new Strategic Plan builds on the foundations of our dedication to upholding high standards of professional practice and prioritizing public protection and safety. The Strategic Plan reaffirms our commitment to these core elements of our mandate, ensuring they continue to guide our work and shape our initiatives moving forward. 

Our Strategic Priorities

Our new strategic priorities are:

  • Regulatory Excellence: Reducing public risk and harm through leading regulatory approaches that serve the public and uphold ethical, professional practice.
  • Organizational Agility, Innovation and Effectiveness: Swiftly adapting to change, embracing technology for smarter work, managing growth effectively and always aiming for excellence.
  • Communication and Awareness: Ensuring clear, accessible and ongoing communication that informs and listens to people and communities.
  • Collaboration and Partnerships: Building strong relationships to enhance knowledge, improve professional standards and enhance public safety.

Expressing our Commitments

A key outcome of the strategic planning process is the recognition to clearly express our commitments to First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples, as well as our dedication to equity, diversity and inclusion and ultimately our overarching responsibility to the public. Together, we are steering the College towards a future where we overcome challenges and seize opportunities.
